THE ANTINOMY ELECTRONIC NOMAD: Experience of Philosophical Reception Through Metaphors
Introduction. Innovating present stage of development and introduction of high technologies associated with the medial turn, lead to various metamorphoses that occur at both the social and the personal. An individual, mastering virtual worlds, simultaneously demonstrates his own activity and passivity, which leads to unexpected results and sets the unpredictability in the vector of his movement. The purpose of the article is to understand a new form of identity – electronic nomadism through the prism of metaphors that not only emotionally, but also systematically help to understand the phenomenon. Materials and Methods. Personal experience and author’s observations of modern human mode are offered as the main material. The collected data and literature on the problems of modern society and new media allowed to summarize the materials, using dialectical and analysis methods. Results of the study showed that the electronic nomad, who spends most of his time on the world wide web, is a resident of a global village and a member of the network society. In a state of frenzied immobility, he lives by the law of rushing need, which makes drawing his life quite difficult. Surrounded by information flows, he ceases to search for meanings, filling the emptiness of being theatrical and showing polite inattention. Discussion and conclusion. The study of electronic nomadism contributes to the understanding of the modern personality, revealing positive/negative trends, risks and dangers in her life. This knowledge helps you predict certain situations and to build algorithms to interact with the electronic nomad.
