THE CONCEPT OF “COLOR REVOLUTION” IN OFFICIAL DISCOURSE AND PARTY OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS IN 2005–2017: IMPACT ON INTEGRATION POLICY

 

Introduction. The article analyzes the specificity of the perception of political actors of the Republic of Belarus of the concept of «color revolution». The problem is considered in the context of the evolution of the domestic and international situation, taking into account the influence on the formation and implementation of integration policies within the framework of the Union State. The purpose and objectives of the study suggest characterizing of the dominant and constant attitudes of official and party discourse in Belarus on this issue, highlighting the factors of their dynamics and stability, identifying common and special features in the positions of different actors. Methods. The research is based on the methods of traditional and formalized document analysis, historical and comparative analysis, and political diagnostics. The main sources were the texts of speeches and statements of senior management and program documents of political parties of the Republic of Belarus. Results. The results of the research showed the dependence of the discursive plots, formed by the combination of interpretations by the political actors of the Republic of Belarus of the «color revolution» concept, from the place they occupy in the political system of the country and the attitude to the political regime. The degree of actualization of the perception of the concept is largely due to «bursts» of attempts to apply the technology of intra-state coup in Belarus, in turn, correlated with peaks of electoral cycles in the republic. Based on theoretical approaches, expert assessments and journalistic materials, the importance of the political and ideological component of the integration process was shown. Our own conclusions are drawn regarding the possibilities and prospects for using the results of discursive practices by political actors and their impact on the situation in the Union State.
