TRINITY IN THE CALENDAR AND RITUAL CULTURE OF THE MORDOVIAN REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN

 

Introduction. The relevance of the topic is determined by the significance of the study of the little-studied traditional calendar ritual of the Mordovian Republic of Bashkortostan. The research allows to reveal regional features and evolution of the Trinity holiday development within the framework of the spring-summer calendar ritual. The purpose of the study is to identify the peculiarities of celebrating the Trinity in the calendar ritual of the Mordovian Republic of Bashkortostan. The following tasks were solved in the study: description of the Trinity rites in the areas of settlement of the Mordovian population in Bashkortostan, identification and comparison of their similarities and differences in different settlements. Materials and Methods. The field materials of ethnographic visits made by the author in the period from July to November 2017 were used. When collecting field materials, the following methods are used: observation and interviewing. Discussion and Conclusion. Trinity rites continue to be preserved with their regional characteristics. The most unchangeable among all rites is the Trinity Sabbath. Festive carnival in the Trinity has more regional differences in its performance.
