Methodology of Researching Russian Society: Formation of Moral Paradigm and Reform of the Education System
Abstract
Introduction. The question of changing Russia’s position in the modern world is extremely relevant in connection with the search for a model of both the further development of Russia and the entire world community. An important role in this search is given to social philosophy, which allows us to formulate methodological principles for studying society. The aim of the article is to identify the dominant vectors of civilizational development of Russia. The object of the study is civilization as a universal unit of the socio-historical process. The subject of the study is the fate of Russia in the consistent change of civilizations.
Materials and Methods. The materials of the study were the works of Russian religious philosophers, as well as expert assessments of Russian and foreign researchers on the state of world and Russian civilization. In general, the study is based on dialectical methodology and related methods and principles. Historical and logical methods, the method of comprehensiveness, the principle of concreteness, and the axiological method were used.
Results. The fundamental approaches and principles that make it possible to formulate a strategy for the development of Russian civilization and the factors influencing the development of world civilization are highlighted. Among them are panmoralism, which recognizes the priority of moral principles in any social action; the equality of all civilizations and cultural-historical types existing on the planet; the need to find a stable balance of interests of different countries and cultures, an optimal balance of material and spiritual factors in social development; the need to debunk consumer ideology and the neo-pagan cult of the body; overcoming the distorted understanding of human nature.
Discussion and Conclusion. The affirmation of these approaches in the public consciousness, their comprehension and practical implementation should be carried out, first of all, through the education system. The reform of this public institution should take place not only in the direction of changing the form of education, but, above all, its internal content, aimed at strengthening the moral component of educational programs and linking education with personal responsibility. The implementation of these goals in the field of education should be closely linked to a significant adjustment of the spiritual culture of Russian society.
