PICTURE OF THE WORLD IN THE CONTEXT OF HUMANITARIAN KNOWLEDGE

The article is devoted to the identification of the picture of the world in the humanities. Picture of the world is seen as a clear and understandable model of the world, a set of basic assumptions about reality, allowing people to choose the guidelines in their life, making plans for the future and find answers to their spiritual needs. The author believes that the picture of the world cannot be created solely by science. Most of its basic components has been formed for thousands of years of social practice, and is given to the mankind in the form of basic, self-evident knowledge.

The article analyzes the linguistic, psychological, sociological views on the picture of the world. Every humanitarian discipline offers its view on the problem. The language picture of the world is a nationally specific form of interpretation of reality, interiorized in the process of socialization. A picture of the world in psychology is found in the space of active interaction between individual and social consciousness. In the first case, perception has a decisive influence on the shaping of the picture of the world, in the second case these are intuitive, usually unconscious assumptions about the world, objectively existing in the public consciousness. Sociology is focused on the activity pattern of understanding of the picture of the world: It tries not only to describe, but also to the construct the picture of the world.

The author concludes that the synthesis of ideas about the picture of the world is possible within the framework of philosophy, and synthesis of ideas proposed by different sciences can convert the notion of the picture of the world to the philosophical category.
