Value Orientations and Aggressiveness of Adolescents: Socio-Psychological Aspect
Abstract
Introduction. The tense, unstable situation that currently exists in our society causes the growth of various deviations in the personal development and behavior of growing people. This process is most acute at the transition from childhood to adulthood in adolescence. In adolescence, value orientations begin to develop into a complex, stable system that determines the development of the child’s life position. Modern teenagers are characterized by increased suggestibility, which, against the backdrop of a loss of values and ideals, leads to a breakdown in the principles of normal communication between teenagers and outbreaks of aggression. The need to fill this gap in scientific knowledge determines the relevance of our research. We have set the following tasks: 1) on the basis of a theoretical analysis of scientific literature, will reveal the essence of value orientations in the context of the socialization of adolescents and substantiate the problems of aggressiveness; 2) identify value orientations in adolescents; 3) explore the interdependence of value orientations and aggression of adolescents; 4) outline the main ways and forms of social and psychological work with aggressive teenagers.
Research Hypothesis. The system of value orientations that develops in adolescence is associated with the form of expression and the level of aggression at a given age.
Materials and Methods. Analysis of scientific literature; psychodiagnostic methods (methodology for studying value orientations by M. Rokeach, the Bassa-Darki questionnaire), comparative method, methods of quantitative and qualitative data processing.
Discussion and Conclusion. The results of a study related to a decrease in the level of aggressiveness in adolescents are presented.
